Hi there, my name is Myke Pickstock. I was born in the mid 70s and hail from the North West of England, however, I’m now living in Berkshire where I work as a Virtualisation Consultant and live with my lovely wife Stevie and two children.
I’m a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) on VI3, vSphere 4 & 5 and a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) on XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 (I’m currently looking at XenApp 6.5) and, in my spare time, I like to play with these and other technologies.
Since getting a ZX Spectrum in my early teens, and later an Amiga, I’ve had aspirations to develop computer games. Over the years I’ve designed a game programming tutorial that featured in the UK’s PC Format magazine and had one of my own games published commercially. Aside from that I’ve been involved in a number of other projects some of which are long dead, and others that are just on a very slow simmer.
I wrote a 35,000 word novella while at university and recently, inspired by bedtime stories with my little ones, fancied trying my hand at writing a children’s book.
I also like to create graphics in a variety of styles including; isometric pixels, 90s-style sprites and hand-drawn (these days via the iPad.) I have also written tools to programatically generate images.
This website serves to document some of the output, technical or artistic, and I hope you enjoy some of the stuff I’ve done over the years.
By my reckoning this is the 5.1th iteration of MykeWEB and, if you’d like to find out more about the previous versions, check out: a brief history of MykeWEB.
